Recycling Timber

Recycling Timber

We recycle 100% of our timber. This is managed by a local recycling business for each of the regional operations.

In Auckland we use a local recycling business who chips treated timber which is then used as bio-fuel (to replace coal) at the Golden Bay Cement Works in Whangarei, enabling them to reduce their CO2 emissions. Untreated timber is chipped and used in landscaping and animal bedding.

In Levin we use a local recycling business who processes the timber according to whether it can be sold as firewood, or made into mulch, sawdust or shavings used for landscaping or animal bedding.

In Christchurch we either repurpose the timber for our own use, or we cut it up and provide it free of charge to the local community for firewood.
