Thermally Broken

DS-50TB Punch Window

Product Description

The DS-50TB Punch Window suite is thermally broken and suitable for fixed glass and window sashes with no seismic requirement.

Frame depth

50mm or 53.5mm

Glass thickness:

18mm to 33mm IGUs Fixed or with Sash

Available Sash types:

  • Larger daylight opening (smaller sash) with face fixed window handle - for moderate wind loads
  • Integrated multipoint locking (large sash) technology - for variable wind loads

Fabrication

Prefabricated locally in New Zealand by Thermosash. Our DecarbALTM aluminium achieves a very low carbon footprint that significantly outperforms readily available alternatives. Thermosash has access to suppliers of low carbon high performance glazing for an integrated solution.

Maximum span

The spanning ability is dependent on the structural system and environmental loads (e.g. wind).  Thermosash engineers the best suite options to meet project requirements.

Performance code compliance

  • AS/NZS1170 (Structural Design Actions)
  • NZS4211 (Performance of Windows)
  • NZS4223 (Glazing in Buildings)
  • AS/NZS 4284:2008 (Water / Air Pressure/ Air Leakage)

Thermal performance

Thermal modelling resulted in insulation performance R-values of:

  • R0.57 (high-end glass IGU R1.1)
  • R0.52 (lower spec glass IGU R1.3)

Engineering

We custom design all our suites to suit each project to maximise the efficiencies within the suite and often to incorporate added elements or unique building structures, building movements or floor heights.

Warranty

The standard warranty is 10 years from the date of practical completion for these products. This covers workmanship and weather tightness, providing the subcontract includes fabrication, installation and glazing of all components, and the maintenance schedule is adhered to.

Maintenance

It is recommended by almost all material suppliers that building washing should occur every 3-6 months to prevent staining to glass and prevent environmental pollutants from corroding metals and to maintain the material warranties.

A full maintenance manual is provided on completion of a project for all the elements integrated within a project. Compliance to a maintenance schedule is essential to maintaining the quality of the installed product over time. Using Thermosash-approved facade maintenance contractor/personnel ensures the highest standards are met.

Key Features

  • Weather resistant, durable and thermally efficient.
  • Maximum IGUs thickness 33mm.
  • Glazing rebate height of 22mm provides for 8mm clearance around the IGU - this taller glazing upstand provides added protection with additional glass ‘edge cover’ and clearance, this ensures we meet or exceed industry minimum standards. (Standard residential window solutions have only 19mm rebate heights and 6mm drainage paths and clearance around the IGU).
  • Die cast bracket connections for the sash provide increased strength and quality of sash connections.
  • Two sash types available:
    • Larger daylight opening (smaller sash) with face fixed window handle – for moderate wind loads
    • Integrated multipoint locking (larger sash) technology - for variable wind loads.
  • High Performance sash locks via adjustable locking points.
