Externally Mounted Venetian Blinds - are fully weatherproof and automatically lower when the light sensor detects light levels of a predetermined level. By programming or from remote operation, can fully close if desired or tilt to your preferred angle. The blinds will automatically retract when the light levels drop below this level and if wind levels exceed the design rating for the selected system. There are blinds which operate down tensioned stainless steel cables or more robust versions which slide inside a recess-able jamb track.
Encapsulated Venetian Blinds - are often installed in twinskin curtainwalls - these units must still be externally rated blinds as they are in the 'wet zone' of a curtainwall, however due to no wind load action, the blinds can be slimmer.
There are many systems to select from and they must be engineered to suit your project and site location.
External venetian blinds can single span up to 5000mm with a single drop of 5400mm offering 24m2 of blind surface.
