Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre

Project Overview

The Wellington Convention Centre is a sustainable 5-Green Star building, situated near the waterfront opposite the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. The top two floors of the Centre have over 10,000sqm of flexible space for meetings and exhibits, the ground floor includes a 1,280sqm Exhibition Gallery – the largest in NZ.

The Thermosash PW1000 Unitised Curtainwall facade comprises of 1000 individual panels made up of 1500 pieces of SEFAR® glass - the glass has a fabric metal coated mesh laminated in the outer pane of the IGU. The metal reflects the light creating a changing exterior aesthetic to the building. This is the first major project in New Zealand utilizing the SEFAR® product. The procurement and supply of the glass was managed by Woods Glass.
