Aluminium and glazed fire rated doors

Product Description

High performance Schüco ADS 80 fire-resistant door systems feature an 80mm deep, highly stable 5-chamber hollow profile design with either a glazed or solid panel. It is certified for fire protection rating (FRR) up to 60 minutes integrity and 30 minutes insulation (-/60/30) and can be used as both a door and a wall unit.

The products and suites are backed by our well-established local expertise and support and are offered through our exclusive NZ partnership with German based company Schüco.

The doors are approved and certified for interior and exterior use. Thermosash sets a high standard for all of the Schüco products we offer; suites are analysed and engineered to suite New Zealand’s dynamic environment and comply with New Zealand standards.

NZ, German and European testing

  • Tested locally in accordance with AS 1530.4:2014 (methods for fire tests on building materials) and NZS 4520:2010 (fire resistance testing of doorsets including hardware items) carried out by BRANZ
  • Single and double-leaf doors certified with CE marking for external use according to EN 16034/EN 14351-1 with compliance pathway reports available to NZTS 4211 to satisfy NZBC E2
  • Durability resistance to repeated opening and closing certified according to EN 12400, class 8 with 1 million cycles
  • Mechanical strength to resistance according to EN 1192, class 4, with the highest protection against vandalism and frequent excessive use of force
  • Burglar resistance certified according to DIN EN 1627 with and without panic function

Safety First

Testing was carried out in New Zealand due to the difference between the European testing standards and NZ standards:

  • Our tests included the door latching, door closers and maglocks which had to be intact at the completion of the test - our system passed the test.
  • Testing is more onerous due to the maximum heat rise in temperature, with different thermocouple locations being used, and therefore the NZ tested system needs to be more insulative (note that the temperature inside the booth exceeds 800 deg Celsius).
  • NZBC B2 (durability) of solid timber fire rated doors for external applications have issues - our aluminium offering provides the same durability whether used for internal or external environments.
  • The testing has provided an opportunity to better understand how aluminium fire rated products perform and confirmed that there are differences between the EN and AS/NZ standards.

For enhanced security and automation, the aluminum system can be upgraded to a multifunctional door, supporting burglar resistance, panic functions, sound reduction, and access control.
